Trump Lures Reporters to Palm Beach With Lay's Potato Chips and Quick Chat Off the Record

Well this is pretty embarrassing for journalism. After 140 days of not holding a press conference, President-elect Donald Trump found a creative way to continue his streak by talking to a select group of reporters on topics unknown off-the-record for 30 minutes Sunday evening.

To add insult to injury, Trump made the reporters come to him, at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, where he’s spending the holidays—presumably relaxing after all those bad tweets and that extra campaign he did for no reason.

But, call me crazy, not all the reporters present seem to have been marinating in the ambivalent shame brought upon them by attending this bold presidential scam. In fact, this reporter seems positively seduced and delighted—by some Lay’s potato chips and a bottle of Trump champaign, no less.

“Say ‘off the record’, and don’t forget to SMILE!”

According to The Hill, Melania Trump, Reince Priebus, Kellyanne Conway, Stephen Miller and Jason Miller were also in attendance.
