The Campaign to Make It Seem Like Ivanka Trump Gives a Shit About Migrant Children Has Begun

America’s next top selkie Ivanka Trump really cares about the kids who have been forcibly removed from their parents as a direct result of the Trump administration’s “zero-tolerance” policy, which has so far led to the detention of more than 2,000 children.

Daddy president apparently told Congressional Republicans that his daughter recently shuffled out of her sealskin to meet with him, expressing her concern over the images of children being ripped from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“He mentioned Ivanka talked to him about that,” said New York Republican Chris Collins after his meeting with the president, CNN reports. “His daughter had seen the images and said for a lot of reasons we should be dealing with this. And that is what this bill does.”

According to New York Times White House correspondent Maggie Haberman, Ivanka’s exact words were: “Daddy, what are we doing about this?” Though, again, that’s what her dad says she said about the thousands of children who’ve been separated from their families and detained as their parents are charged with the crime of illegal entry and trapped into a labyrinthine legal process as they fight to be reunited with their children.
