Ronda Rousey Is Feeling The Bern

Politics

Grumpy old man and Democratic presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, has earned the endorsement of Ronda Rousey. The UFC champion (and future star of the highly anticipated Road House reboot) told Maxim that she was supporting Sanders “because he doesn’t take any corporate money.” “I don’t think politicians should be allowed to take money for their campaigns from outside interests,” Rousey said.

She’s so committed to Sanders’ campaign that she said if he lost the primary, she’d likely vote for a third-party candidate:

“To be honest, in 2012 I was against both candidates and so I just picked any third party because I thought if more people voted for third parties then they’d have to take third parties seriously.”

In 2012, Rousey threw her support to Roseanne Barr who ran as the Peace and Freedom Party candidate.

The Huffington Post notes that Rousey is one of many celebrities who have recently endorsed the Vermont Senator. She joins the company of Will Ferrell, Susan Sarandon, Danny DeVito, Mark Ruffalo, that guy from Wilco, and Bonnie Raitt. Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, has attracted the support of Katy Perry and Lena Dunham.
