Bernie Sanders went on The View on Friday and, it brings me no pleasure to report, Meghan McCain used it as an opportunity to try and start some real shit.
Here’s the exchange, in which McCain, after the panel had moved on from a conversation about the 2016 election and Sanders’s view of Hillary Clinton, tried to raise the subject again:
McCain: Can I just interject really quickly though? We’re hearing about a lot of Democratic candidates who are meeting with Hillary Clinton for advice though, so people like Amy Klobuchar. Do you think you’ll do the same?
Bernie Sanders: I suspect not.
McCain: Suspect not.
Sanders: No, she has not called me. Look, we have differences. She, Hillary has played a very important role in modern American politics.
McCain: So you’re not interested in any advice from her?
Sanders: Look. I think every Democrat is gonna come together. Let me say what I’ve said before. I hope to be the Democratic nominee and have the support of the whole Democratic Party behind me. If I am not, and somebody else is, I will support that candidate, because what’s most important is that Trump be defeated.Nice try, Meghan!
