Man Who Smashed Trump's Walk of Fame Star Reportedly Being Bailed Out by Previous Guy Who Did That

On Wednesday, TMZ reported that the man who absolutely ruined Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star (how was that shit still there in the first place??) with a pickax is being bailed out of jail by a guy who did a similar thing a couple years ago.

In 2016, James Otis, heir to the Otis Elevator Company per the New York Post, also attacked Trump’s star with a pickax and now he is reportedly planning to help out 24-year-old Austin Clay, whose bail was set at $20,000.

To achieve his objective in 2016, Otis reportedly donned construction-worker apparel and used his pickax, plus a sledgehammer, to do some serious damage to Trump’s star. He pleaded no contest in 2017, resulting in a fine of $4,400 and 20 days of community service.

Shortly after this stunt, Otis explained his objective in a self-recorded video published by TMZ, “The reason I did it was because of the amount of sexual assaults that not only my own family has experienced, but that the many women that Donald Trump has done this to. The point of the exercise was to take the star and auction it off on Election Day, and distribute that money to the women who’d been sexually assaulted by Mr. Trump.”

According to The Los Angeles Times, Clay voluntarily turned himself over to authorities after his protest on Wednesday. He was booked on suspicion of felony vandalism.
