Looks Like the FBI Recovered Some of Hillary Clinton's Deleted Emails

Bloomberg News is reporting that a “person familiar with the investigation” confirmed that the Federal Bureau of Investigations has recovered emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server. According to Bloomberg, the FBI is investigating “how and why classified information ended up on Clinton’s server.”

During her tenure as Secretary of State, Clinton used a private email account housed on a private server. Clinton has maintained that she did so for ease and that no laws were violated. Last year, Clinton turned over nearly 55,000 pages of email related to State Department business. She withheld 30,000 emails, claiming that they were personal in nature and had been “wiped” from the server. Clinton’s claim—that those emails were gone—was recently challenged by the private company who maintained her server. Earlier this month the Colorado-based company told the Washington Post that they had “no knowledge of the server being wiped.”

What exactly the FBI has found remains unclear. Bloomberg reports:

The exact number of personal e-mails recovered by the FBI could not be learned.

Once the e-mails have been extracted, a group of agents has been separating personal correspondence and passing along work-related messages to agents leading the investigation, the [source] said.

The Clinton camp continues to insist that no laws have been broken. “We’ve cooperated to date and will continue to do so, including answering any questions about this that anyone including the public may have,” Clinton spokesman Nick Merill told Bloomberg.

The investigation is likely to take months. That means months of reading about the most boring scandal that could ever be imagined.
