Not to worry—I’ve taken on the task of explaining what you need to know about each of the 2020 candidates in 60 seconds or less.

Kirsten Gillibrand is a New York senator who has moved left in recent years and embraced strong progressive policies in response to public pressure and shifting political winds. She’s got a complicated track record: she’s close to Wall Street donors but has also become a vocal advocate for programs like Medicare for All. She has also been on the forefront of campaigns against sexual harassment, and has fought for major structural reforms that a lot of her Democratic colleagues have so far resisted. She is also the millionth senator to run for president in 2020.
