Do you wish you knew more about every Democrat running for president? But you also have a life or at least pretend to and don’t want to waste the little precious moments you have Googling my two-dozen wretched sons and daughters? (Tough, but fair.) Not to worry—I’ve taken on the task of explaining what you need to know about each of the 2020 candidates in 60 seconds or less.

Beto O’Rourke almost unseated Ted Cruz, the most hated man in the country, in the 2018 midterm elections. It was great, honestly. He helped energize a really powerful grassroots movement across the state around a really specific, urgent goal: loosening the Republican death grip on the Senate. Now, after live-blogging his way through the country, he’s decided that it’s time for him to run for president for seemingly no reason. One man’s journey, I guess!
