Donald Trump Says Women Lie About Sexual Assault: 'They Want Money, They Want Whatever'

NewsPolitics

In a truly batshit press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Donald Trump spoke at length about the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and confirmed what we already knew: he thinks women lie about sexual assault.

When asked if being accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women has colored his view on the veracity of women’s sexual assault claims, he said it does:

Well, it does impact my opinion, you know why? Ive had a lot of false charges made against me. I’m a very famous person, unfortunately. I’ve been a famous person for a long time. I have had a lot of false charges made against me. Really false charges. People want fame, they want money, they want whatever.
So when I see it, I view it differently than somebody sitting home watching television where they say “Oh, Judge Kavanaugh, this or that.” It’s happened to me many times. I have had many false charges. […] So when you say does it affect me in terms of my thinking with respect to Judge Kavanaugh? Absolutely, because I’ve had it happen many times.

Earlier in the press conference, Trump also expressed disbelief that women are coming forward with sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh decades after the alleged assaults occurred.

“I don’t think people are reluctant to come forward,” Trump said. “[Christine Blasey Ford and Kavanaugh’s other accusers] are going to have a major chance to speak. They have a major chance to speak, and it will be tomorrow, I assume.”

He continued: “I’m going to see what happens tomorrow. I’m going to be watching tomorrow.”

I’m sure he fucking will.
