Sputum-filled Orange Julius Donald Trump appeared on Fox News Monday night, to carry out one of his blitzkrieg attacks on both American ideals and the English language. He also found time to mention that he, personally, is responsible for women’s success in the construction industry. Who else, right?
In a gentle interview with Bill O’Reilly which we saw via Talking Points Memo, Trump claimed he’s not racist (he is) and that he wasn’t calling for a Latino judge to recuse himself in a Trump University case merely for being Latino (he did). He also obliquely referenced the fact that his campaign pays men more than women, by lying about it.
“Number one, I have great respect for women,” Trump said, untruthfully. He continued, in a breathless, comma-less rush: “I was the one that really broke the glass ceiling on behalf of women more than anybody in the construction industry. And my relationship, I think, is going to end up being very good with women. Plus, they want to see a strong country that’s secure. She’s not going to be able to do that. Look at Benghazi. She was sleeping when the phone call came in. She did the ad on the phone call at three in the morning, she was sleeping, she was sound asleep or wherever she was, but she wasn’t answering that call when our ambassador and the others needed help.”
“Okay,” O’Reilly said.
“So I think I’m going to do great with women,” Trump continued. “Now with Mexico I want a strong border, there’s no question about that. I’m not talking about Mexican people. You know I have thousands of Hispanics working for me right now, Bill?”
Hear that, Mexican women? Donald Trump must love you double, God help you.
The glass ceiling comments begin at the eight-minute mark in the video below.
