Alex Acosta, Donald Trump’s Labor Secretary, will resign from the cabinet following increased scrutiny over the sweetheart deal he gave noted sexual predator and alleged pedophile Jeffrey Epstein more than a decade ago that allowed Epstein to evade federal prosecution.
In a seemingly impromptu press conference that Donald Trump maybe forced Acosta to participate in, Acosta shared that he’s stepping down because staying would be “selfish.” “It would be selfish for me to stay in this position and continue talking about a case that’s 12 years old rather than about the amazing economy we have right now,” Acosta said.
