Brett Kavanaugh Answers Dick Durbin's Question About a Potential FBI Investigation With Stony Silence

NewsPolitics

During his hearing before the Senate Judiciary Hearing on Thursday, Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was asked by Illinois Democrat Dick Durbin asked if he would “support an FBI investigation, right now” into Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations that he sexually assaulted her as a teenager. Kavanaugh responded, “I, I will do whatever… the committee wants to…” and trailed off.

Durbin rephrased the question: “Personally, do you think that’s the best thing for us to do?” And then Kavanaugh sat in silence for at least six seconds, making his answer clear enough.
