Much of the Eastern Seaboard is bracing for a big winter storm—especially Washington, D.C., where the National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch starting Friday afternoon. Also scheduled for Friday afternoon: the annual anti-abortion “March for Life.”

Friday is, of course, also the forty-third anniversary of Roe v. Wade. And in a big roundup of blizzard-related reports, the AP notes:

Organizers of the March for Life say their annual anti-abortion rally in Washington will be held Friday, as scheduled.

The rally on the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision is one of the largest events on the National Mall. Thousands of abortion opponents gather to listen to speeches before marching to the Supreme Court.

Please keep Washington, D.C. in your thoughts—they have enough trouble with snow without throwing hordes of anti-abortion protestors into the mix.

I live in DC and work not too far from the Hill. Every year I see this invading infestation of assholes for this march. What upsets me most are the children I see - ones who are clearly to young to have made up their minds on an issue, who are being used as political props. And then on a much more practical level, they just muck things up at streets and crosswalks. I did have one funny experience though years ago in a cab. A group crossing against the light -they alllllwaaayyyysss cross against the light - and several of them holding signs that said, “Life begins at conception.” The driver muttered under his breath, “Life is going to end at this intersection if they don’t move it.” I tipped him a little extra.
