With Government Shutdown Looming, the Trump Administration Goes After Planned Parenthood

- The Trump administration announced that it will roll back Obama-era protections for Planned Parenthood. In 2016, the Obama administration made it harder for states to end Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood, as well as other health organizations that also provide abortions. In a letter to states, Charmaine Yoest, Health and Human Services secretary for Public Affairs (and former head of Americans United for Life) wrote: “This is part of the Trump administration’s effort to roll back regulations the Obama administration put out to radically favor abortion.” [The Hill]
