Roy Moore Accuser's House Burned in a Heavily Pro-Moore County

On Wednesday, a fire destroyed the home of Tina Johnson, a woman who alleged that Roy Moore sexually harassed her and “grabbed my behind” in his office. According to Alabama’s unofficial election night results, Roy Moore carried Etowah County, where she lives, by 58%.

The county sheriff’s office is investigating for arson but has announced that they have no reason to believe that the arson is directly related to Moore.

“The on-going investigation does not lead us to believe that the fire is in any way related to Roy Moore or allegations made against him,” they state in a press release.

In November, Johnson had spoken in interviews with AL.com and Megyn Kelly about an allegation that Moore groped her when she was 28 while she was visiting his office to sign custody of her 12-year-old son over to her mother.

According to AL.com, which first reported the story, neighbors called 911 at around 8 a.m., after Johnson, her husband and grandson had left the house. Neighbors reportedly witnessed a young man with a history of public intoxication walking near the house at the time of the fire.

“I am devastated, just devastated,” Johnson told AL.com on Friday. “We have just the clothes on our backs.”

Johnson and her family are currently living in a motel. An unrelated woman from California has started a GoFundMe campaign for Johnson, which, at the time of this writing, has raised over $80,000.
