Don Jr.? She's Running? 

God bless the Trump PR machine for seeding another nightmare narrative to keep an eye on: Don Jr. might run for office!

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Don Jr.’s reported political ambitions, but that kind of talk had mostly gone quiet as the eldest Trump son found himself at the center of stories about his secret affairs and public divorces. And yet, here we are again.

Donald Trump Jr. sparked new speculation that he’s following in his father’s footsteps and eyeing a future political run by hosting a secret fund-raiser for Vice President Mike Pence’s older brother Greg Pence, who is running for Congress in Indiana.

Don Jr. introduced the candidate at a Columbus Circle penthouse to a group that included actor Stephen Baldwin, filmmaker Ray Bouderau, billionaire John Catsimatidis, socialite Jean Shafiroff, and the Pence family, including John Pence, who works with Don Jr. and Eric at the Trump Organization.

All of this is standard: This cursed man is doing his job, which is to shill for his father and the family brand. Good boy. Shiny boy. But then we reach what seems like the point of this blind item: “Sources say Don was so smooth that one staffer for VP Pence whispered, ‘I wouldn’t be surprised to see his name on a ticket.’”

All of this feels not quite real, but that is something many people once said about the Trump presidency, so! Maybe it’s best to just read it for what it is and brace for what it could be.
